As I'm here

I am going to Connotations. YAY!
I still don't really understand what's going on with the 'finale'. Apparently there will be an 'episode 9' at Christmas. Will the series not end till then? Will there be a cliffhanger? Is it just a Christmas special? Will there finally be a Mac/Caroline/Guy threesome? I just don't know. But I'm looking forward to it all the same.
I am kidding myself rubbishly about the series ending with Guy/Caroline. My secret theory is that when therapist guy (who is pretty great on his own, and can perhaps have slash) said 'the guy everyone knows you want to be with', he actually meant Guy, and was referring to Caroline's pointless taunting of him with Guyball earlier, and next week she will REALISE IT, and chase him. I have heard things about the final scene. But I'm probably just clutching at straws. If not I want heartbreak and tragedy. I want Guy to say all the horrible, doomed things I've heard people say doomedly before, like 'I want you for good'. And for Mac to DIE IN A CAR CRASH. A bit.
I love Guy for having a cow on his body. I love even more the AU where he actually got the flower, and Caroline still wasn't impressed, and he HAD A FLOWER ON HIS BODY, AS A SYMBOL OF HIS SAD, UNREQUITED LOVE, and possibly Mac could lick it. Also Boyce/Alan forever. Naturally.
I loved this week's episode. It's the first episode I've properly enjoyed, I think - where it didn't just feel like a half-decent story with everything that wasn't 'Whoosh! Bang! Wow!' cut out of it. But I heard a while back that Mickey will only be a companion till episode 6, and it's sort of killing me. WHY have they given him backstory, and mending scenes, and the Doctor giving him 'You're my companion! Don't leave me!' looks, JUST BEFORE THEY'RE GOING TO TAKE HIM AWAY FROM ME??? In favour of 'I can mess with Alternate Universes/Why should I be serving staff??' Rose and Doctor-Rose mutual obssession? Oh. It's bad.
I love Mickey ('good kitchen!'). I've been thinking he'd get death-by-cyberman, but now I'm thinking Ricky (and hurrah for hard!Mickey, btw) will die a bit, and Mickey will choose to stay and help out the city post-cyberman, in the universe where his nan is alive, and to which the doctor can NEVER RETURN AGAIN. Which in a way is worse. Because you can AU death. How to rewrite 'choosing to stay in a universe where you have family and can help rather than being ignored by a timelord and your annoying girlfriend'? Sigh.
I hope I'm super-wrong about all this. Without Mickey, I fear only disillusionment and not-watching will follow. Except I'll totally keep watching. Damn it.
Back to the essays.
