Hello, it's me again. It probably doesn't need saying at this point, but I'm not doing a pairing picspam today. I still don't have my antivirus protection sorted out, so I can't relaly use my computer at the moment. My current situation with my antivirus protection is that I went into my local WH Smiths, not expecting them to be selling Norton Antivirus protection, but they were, but it was the new 2011 package so even with the discount they were offering it was still £35.99. Which is better value than £39.99 to update my old package, but not much cheaper. My dad either looked at the licenses he's got and found out they were no good and didn't tell me, or decided not to do that and didn't tell me, or forgot about it, but he's not mentioned it since. But he's said that if people have Barclays online banking, which I have, they can get free antivirus protection packages with that. But he didn't say what kind or how good they were, so I'm meant to be looking it up, which I haven't yet. But yes. My progress is still basically in the planning stages.

Meanwhile, I have been playing lots of Black And White 2 again, and am nearly finished with it. I'm on the last level, and things were looking a bit awful for a while, but I got some unexpected in-game help and now I just have to impress the Aztecs or destroy them. One of the two. But anyway. I got excited a few days ago, because I thought that if Black And White 2 works on my new laptop when it didn't on my old one, maybe Oblivion, which I never bought because my old computer didn't meet the system requirements, might work on it too. Oblivion is one of the Elder Scrolls games, in the same series as Morrowind. I may have mentioned before that I LOVE THEM INCREDIBLY. And it looks like Oblivion totally would work on my new laptop, so I'm pretty excited to get that at some point. Except not now, because with the two expansion packs it's still about £40. BUT, Bethesda announced suprisingly last year, after no word on it for ages, that they were bringing out a new Elder Scrolls game in November this year, Skyrim. And after thinking maybe Oblivion would work on my new laptop, I briefly thought that maybe Skyrim would work on it as well, given that it's a brand new laptop, and they are unlikely to make a game that you can't play on anything that wasn't bought a few days before the game came out. But then I remembered I have a new laptop, and it's PCs that the games are generally designed to be played on. And there are no system requirements out for Skyrim out at the moment, but based on some predicted system requirements someone made, it sounds like it wouldn't work on my laptop. Which is pretty irritating because generally, I was a lot more psyched about fighting dragons in Skyrim than political intrigue in the Imperial City. But whatever. I probably can't convince my dad I need a brand new pc in the same year as I got a brand new laptop. Oh well.

In other news, blah. I'm still not unpacked from London. I don't think my bank account is looking very healthy. Past Times has some new jewellery out for this season, and some of it's lovely and costs more than a few pounds, and that isn't really fair. I watched the last episode of Mad Dogs. And I just recently watched the episode of Emmerdale after detective Nick something shot himself in front of Katie and OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD. Everything I predicted about how she would react to it and towards Andy came true but even worse than I imagined, oh God. And I can't stand how soaps have women do bad things but for justified (to them) reasons and then let people/men shout at them in a really intimidating/demeaning way over it, I really can't. They've done it to Becky in Coronation Street this week, and they did it to Ruth in Casualty, and oh my God. I properly hate it. But David's turned up with fiancee, finally. A few weeks ago the actress playing her was doing an interview in one of the soap mags and discussing how Gail would react, and the woman said everyone knew how "possessive" Gail was over David. Hmm. Possessive. Yes. She was getting a bit possessive tonight. I'm sure this will turn out pretty much as well as the last time Nick got engaged to someone. Although David's slightly less inclined to take it from her, I think. Well, we'll see if they make it to the wedding, I guess.

I use avast free anti virus, or sometimes AVG free. They're both free and regularly updated and really good. Sometimes while you're downloading them they will try to trick you into paying money, but somewhere there is always a 'NO I AM SURE I WANT THE FREE ONE' button, and the free one is still really good and fine.

I have caught up with Coronation Street and isn't Steve slightly sort of hating Becky for something he already punished her for and got over? I quite like how they go from fury to desperate love and back again all the time but he seems really unkind this time and I hate it. Also I hate Owen and everything he does and says and OH MY GOD the way he acts with Eileen makes me feel genuinely sick and I want Steve to go and fight with her.

Ahh, thank you. I shall look into that. Unfortunately I'm having to do all my antivirus research on my dad's computer just in case I accidentally click on a virus on my laptop, but I shall make sure to have a look at that. My main problem with antivirus decisions is that I don't really know which are the good ones or how much I should reasonably be paying for a good package, or anything about it at all. But I shall look into those ones.

Yeah, he really is, and it's really weird. Being upset about losing Dev as a friend or it all coming out is one thing, but he was really angry and being horrible to her about it all, and then being horrible to her about her being sorry about it. And yeah, it was a terrible thing to do, although after the tv guide said Becky would sink to an 'all time low' the night she did it, it was not as bad I was thinking it was going to be. But she's made it pretty clear, onscreen, that she did it because she had a terrible awful life that she hated and hated herself for and didn't want the same thing to happen to Max, which is about as good as reason as you can have for doing something like that. And yeah, her and Steve had it out when she did it, I'm pretty sure, and now he's just screaming at her like he did when she said she didn't want kids. I don't know. I did like it when he told Tracy she wasn't fit to comment on his wife and never would be, though. That was ace. I don't really know what they're doing with the storyline though. A few weeks ago I read an interview with Steve's actor where they asked him if the shock of the secret being found out by Dev and Sunita would get Becky to "pull her socks up now", and he said he didn't know, and that Steve knew Becky was a "bad girl through and through" and whether he'd put up with her bad behaviour and constantly wrecking his life was something they'd have to wait and see about. And I don't know. Becky is great, and they have made it pretty clear she had an awful childhood and had to do certain things or get into a certain mindset just to survive, and she made that pretty clear to Steve in canon and he still wanted to be with her, and now they just talk to her and about her like she's a stray dog that hasn't learned how to exist in civilised company yet. It really confuses me.

And OH MY GOD I HATE OWEN. I can't remember what you've seen or if I've mentioned this before, but there was a bit a few months ago where his sixteen year-old daughter slept with Chesney behind his back, and he found out she hadn't slept over at her sister's like she'd told him, and the next time he saw her he banged a tool on the fence of his builder's yard and screamed at her like a lunatic. Then dragged her into the office and explained that because her sister was in a wheelchair she had to be "the sensible one", and not do anything wrong/anything she wanted ever, and that he thought she understood that. I think he's meant to be a proper actual psycho, and I hate him. I hate how he's been treating Eileen, especially when he's been having her do his dodgy books and is a bigger crook than she is. And I hate how he came round to her house when he found out she stole money from him, shouted at her, basically said he was going to ruin her life, then kissed her on the cheek and left. It was awful, and I hate him. I loved Lloyd saying that he knew Eileen was great and that even if she did steal the money she probably had her reasons and wasn't a crook, though. That bit was win. I just want Owen to go away. Or for his dodgy accounts to get found out and for him to go to jail. Or just for him to go away.

I loved Steve quietly sticking up for her against Tracey even when he was really cross, yes. That was awesome. Becky is great though, and you're right about how they're just pretending that she is all wrong and needs to Learn and whatever. BAH. I'm already bored with her sister being back as well. I want much more happy for her.

I didn't see all the bit with Owen's daughter, but some of the times he's shouted at Eileen have been SO AWFUL and they do write/play it really well to be fair, but OH GOD I WANT HIM TO DIE HORRIBLY IN CONCRETE.

I hate Norton anti virus with a fiery passion. I wouldn't let it live on my computer for more than two seconds, much less pay for the privilege. I had paid anti virus for a while with AVG when my sister bought it and got another computer for free. But otherwise I would never pay for it and never have. The companies that make anti virus software usually provide a free option, because it helps them for the most people possible to be protected from viruses anyway, so they get spread less, so their paying customers are safer. When you look at the things they don't have compared to the paid version it's pretty small differences.

(I used AVG for years, I only swapped from it because it was suddenly using a lot of my CPU, but apparently they've fixed that now.)

Seconding AVG & Avast recommendations. I used AVG for a while, switched to Avast and am now back on AVG again. Never had any problems with either of them nd have only ever used the free versions.

Thank you. On your and [livejournal.com profile] jekesta's recommendation and a review my dad found in one of his PC Pro magazines I have downloaded AVG Free Antivirus, and I will hopefully also have no problems with it :)

I know dude. I can't believe he shouted at her about being sorry, I really can't believe that. And she made it really clear, to the audience and to him, that she wanted to have Max and not let him be with Kylie in an attempt to save him from the kind of life she had, and he (and all his friends) are still screaming at her like she's dirt over it. And I'm pretty sure she said before they got together that she was bad, she was no good and whatever, so it would never work out between them and they shouldn't get together, and he was all "no no no, we totally should" and insisted, and now she's done a bad thing and he's just dragging her over the coals about it. And oh God. But I've seen it happen to so many female characters, especially lately, and I'm pretty sure more than I used to see it, and I just don't even know what TV writers and producers are doing, really. Like I said to [livejournal.com profile] jekesta though, I did love him telling Tracy that she wasn't fit to comment on his wife and never would be. That bit was wicked.
