Well, I seem to have gotten to the 'brutally, aggravatingly hard' part of Far Cry 3. Also the 'much more racist' part. I mean, there's nothing like a white guy going to a temple full of island natives to become one of them - to become a better one of them than any of them are - only to be offered local hallucinogenic drugs by their sexy, provocatively dressed female leader (who's mainly and constantly described as a 'looker' more than anything else), and then him waking up to find her having sex with him, or at the very least sexually assaulting him while he was under the influence and unable to consent, while telling how great a warrior he is and how good it is that he's so violent. And then having him, a white guy, leading a rousing speech to the other native warriors from atop a literal pedestal while they all bow before them as he swears to lead them to victory and save them. Nothing wrong with that, right?

At this point I'm not sure if it'll be worse if it's played straight, and this is all a literal source of power for him so he can save the POC like a champion, or if it turns out to be some sort of ruse, where the leader woman's knowingly seduced him and given him drugs to sort of brainwash him into being the crazy warrior they need him to be. Magical or untrustworthy? The choice is theirs!

Also my favourite character has died. I mean, he was a baddie, so I knew it was coming, but hhhhng. He started off the game and he's on the cover of the box, so I kind of thought he'd last till the end. Instead we have about a third of the main story to go, apparently, without him in it. Unless he only seemed to die but didn't, like the main character just recently did. Or the main character starts hallucinating him, which seems likely. Jason (our main character) seems pretty fucked up/fucked from hereon out. But I will miss Vaas. At least he was super slashy before he went out.

The game was so brutally aggravatingly hard that it's now given me a headache. Lovely. Ironically, it wasn't even the FPS parts that were so difficult, it was the hallucination bits where I had to kill a giant with the fucking bow and then kill a million Vaas', who were much better at killing me than I was at killing them. I hope that doesn't continue.
