Like, I don't think that sitting down and playing any video game will make a person violent. I don't even think that playing any game regularly will make a person violent. But I do weird shit when I play video games - last night I was playing a strategy game, and I was so frustrated at having to restart a scenario for the twentieth or so time that I literally screamed. And my parents are so used to that at this point that they said they heard something, but assumed I was alright. I don't do that about books or tv shows. You do act differently.

And you know, there's a huge amount of violence against women in our society. I don't think that means women cause violence, or make people violent, and that removing all women is somehow the solution. It means attitudes to women are leading to violence. In the same way, I don't think video games are causing violence, but attitudes to them, and to winning/losing, might be, and the fact no-one wants to even talk about that or think about it makes my head hurt. It just makes me think that if there is a real problem, it's never going to get better. I get that people find it hard to broach the subject of whether games have an effect on people's behaviour in a way that isn't controversial in this day and age, but I also think that if you really respect games, then you should look at all sides of them, the good and the bad. I don't know. It sucks.
